Trails and adventure activities are tailor-made to suit your needs. We can
cater for groups of up to six riders.
We undertake to give our guests an unforgettable holiday experience, with
their safety as a priority.
On the slopes of the Southern Drakensberg near Maclear in the North Eastern Cape,
where the valleys and waterways cut and gouge their way to the sea, can be
found what many describe as the ultimate ‘eco’
experience. At Woodcliffe the peaks of the high ‘berg soar to touch
the sky, tumbling, cascading waterfalls laugh and chatter through stunning
riverine landscapes where indigenous forests cling. Here the call of birds
without number chase the sound of city life. This is Woodcliffe, home of the
famous ‘cave trails’ and a sheer delights for the ‘eco’ tourist, hiker,
artist, photographer and birder.

Wild at Heart Horse
Trails
Approximately four hours drive from East London will find you
making your way through the sleepy town of Maclear in the North-Eastern
Cape, home of Wild At Heart Horse Trails.
Situated 11 kilometres from Maclear in the foothills of the Southern
Drakensberg,
Wild
At Heart provides unrivalled scenery in the form of rolling grassland and
pristine river valleys, with the majestic Drakensberg as a backdrop.
Our trails provide visitors with the unique experience of
viewing the area on horseback, which used to be the preferred mode of
transport in the not-so-distant past. Visitors will be accompanied at all
times by experienced guides and a back-up vehicle.
We offer a variety of trails, from half-day luncheon rides to
a two-day ride with an overnight stop in a bushman's cave. We cater for all
riders, from beginners to the experienced veteran, and have a selection of
horses to suit riders of differing abilities.
Additional activities include
abseiling, rock jumping, guided rock art tours, guided indigenous flower
walks with an Orchid trail as a highlight in the months of January and
February. Fly-fishing is also available
Our guests are accommodated in a
cottage situated on the family farm, Mondamin. Your hosts, Mike and Adele
Moore and family established Wild at Heart four years ago and have
entertained families and other guests from various overseas countries as
well as local South Africans.
