Whitewater Training is a river based specialty training center.We offer Beginner Kayak Schools just 70km away from Johannesburg on the Vaal River in Parys in the Free State. 

The Beginner Kayak School is perfect for anyone who wants to start whitewater kayaking/ canoeing.  All equipment needed for the Beginner Kayak School is included in the price.  

We also provide you with a beautiful camping spot (with hot showers and electricity) on the tranquil banks of the Vaal River.  All you need to bring is a tent and snooze gear, sunscreen and clothes that dry fast. 

The course starts at 8am on the Saturday morning and ends approximately 4pm on the Sunday afternoon.  The main focus of the Beginner Kayak School is to have as much fun as possible!  We teach our students to be comfortable in the boat on the water and proper paddling technique. 

The Sunday is an instructional paddle down a stretch of river with grade 1 – 3 rapids. The grade 3 rapids are all portage-able and you don’t have to do anything that you are not comfortable with. 

All of our instructors are APA registered and almost over qualified to teach.  They have a combined paddling/ guiding experience of 36 years and have run most of the rivers in Africa.
