A number of beautiful game reserves are located within 20 mins drive of Watervale Lodge.
A stone’s throw away, visitors will find the “Valley of a Thousand Hills” Route, along which the well known Comrades Marathon is run.
It is one of the most picturesque drives in the world and is just 5 mins away from Watervale Lodge. It is in these hills where Zulu people still live in their traditional huts. The views are breathtaking – to be savoured slowly.
The route comprises, besides magical views and plenty of restaurants, Arts & Crafts shops, with plenty of African crafts, cultural, rural villages, a safari park, crocodile park, snake park and other general shops.
