Stonecutters Lodge is a conference, trout fishing and holiday venue of exceptional quality. We lie in a beautiful setting between mountains and river. Stonecutters is a scenic property and there is a three kilometer river walk, a mountain hike and a wetland with bird-hide.
Stonecutters is an exceptional venue for exclusive management meetings and fills a niche for smaller groups (from 6-20 people). The conference facility seating up to 20 delegates is fully equipped.
It offers a base for malaria-free holidays and excursions to nearby game lodges and well-known tourist attractions. Stonecutters is an ideal stopover for the Kruger National Park and many private game lodges in the Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces.
Activities There are two well-stocked dams and 3 kilometres of river. Fly-fishing clinics can be organised and team building and competitions arranged around this theme. Additional relaxation activities are available in the area or on request: archery, clay pigeon shooting, golf, horse riding, etc. (Costs and further information on request)
Fishing There is no levy for fishing. Catch and Release is encouraged, all river fish are to be released. Only barbless hooks may be used.
Stonecutters runs a special from time to time, so please phone when you want to book.

More about our AccommodationAccommodation at Stonecutters is of the highest standard with each facility providing a different ambience – Stone Manor, The Cobbles, Trout House and Stone Cottage. We offer bed and breakfast (B&B), self-catering and full board accommodation.
Stone Manor houses the reception rooms, dining area, kitchen, boardroom and office. Up to twenty people can dine here in comfort. Furnishings are luxurious throughout; Stone Manor will impress even the most exacting clientele. A bubbling waterfall cascades into an indigenous pond in the front garden and sundowners can be enjoyed on the wooden deck jutting over the water. The lounge/dining area is built on a grand scale and is dominated by a large fireplace.
The Cobbles consists of six en-suite luxury studios each sleeping two people. Built as three freestanding units, the cottages nestle among tall pine trees with views of the distant mountains to be seen from the wooden covered decks. It is what we call studio accommodation: each one is an open area with an en-suite shower bathroom and a small kitchenette with tea/coffee making facilities and under-carpet heating. Double or single beds are provided and there is also a seating area. We are a four star grated lodge, and the rooms are well-appointed, opening on to a wooden deck with views over the mountains. DSTV is provided with a selection of channels. Meals are available by prior arrangement.
There is a small kitchenette with an under-counter fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. On the deck overlooking the mountains there is a gas Hot-rock Braai. The room is heated by under tile and under carpet heating.
The Trout House is a well-appointed, charming double-story house overlooking the two dams.Trout House is suitable for six people to sleep in. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It is set right next to the dams with lawns down to the water. There is a lounge with a fireplace and dining area for six people. The kitchen is well equipped with oven, stove, microwave and fridge. The bedrooms at the moment have 1 with a double bed and two rooms with single beds. If you need any change to this it can be done. The house is also suitable for use by the disabled, with the two downstairs en-suite bathrooms being suitably equipped and allowing wheelchair access.
Next to the house is a thatched boma which is a great outdoor area for meals. There is a bonfire pit and braai here and there is outdoor furniture for 8 people. You can self-cater or you may like to have a meal in our restaurant in Stone Manor. We just need to know the day before.
Stone Cottage is very private. It is set on the hillside, a few minutes walk to the dams. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. (1 with a shower & 1 with a bath). The master bedroom is large and the second bedroom is small. There is a lounge with fireplace and an open plan kitchen area with a fridge and a table-top oven with 2 hotplates.
