TYPICAL DAY A typical day starts with an early morning wake up between 4:30 and 6:00 am depending on the time of the year. Shortly after you will head out into the bush in an open 4x4 safari vehicle.
Experienced guides will share the extensive knowledge of the bush with you. With a bit of luck animals such as leopard and hyena will still be around after their night of hunting. Half way through the morning game drive you will stop in the heart of the bush for tea, coffee and rusks.
After which, we will continue in the vehicle or on foot depending of guest preferences. (walks allow guests an opportunity to see the smaller creatures of the bush and learn more about the flora and fauna of the region).
After this experience you will return to the lodge for brunch.
The middle of the day can be spent as you wish. Maybe you prefer to sit on your private balcony whilst reading a book and listening to the tranquil sound of the bush or relaxing around the rock swimming pool. You can even wander the porcupine walking trail looking for birds, animals and reptile.
High tea is served at 15:30 and the afternoon game drive depart at 16:00 pm. Once again, during the drive we will stop for sundowner and snacks whilst enjoying the African sunset behind the stunning Drakensburg mountains. After which, we will continue the game drive trying to view nocturnal animals by spot light.
Returning to the lodge you can relax in our tree top bar and discuss the adventures of the day before a traditional South African dinner is served in the boma under the stars at 19:30 |
