PARA-TAXI

A Paraglider is a aerodynamically shaped inflatable wing. Wind blowing into the canopy inflates it making flight effortless. Paragliders are light and fold up making them compact and portable.

Paragliding is a form of flight using only the power of the wind. With experience, both flight time, distance travelled and altitudes achieved can be increase. Many world records were set right here in South Africa.

As long as you have the courage to be suspended in the air by the wind and glider and are older than 8 years and weigh less than 130kgs, flight is possible.

PARA-TAXI puts a huge amount of effort into promoting the sport, respecting the environment and making flight possible for the disabled and physically challenged.

Tandem flights are flown by a SAHPA (South African Hang and Paragliding Association) approved Tandem Instructor Pilot. Tandem flights involve you being securely strapped into a comfortable flying harness positioned in front of the pilot.
As a paraglider can fly very slowly it is easy to launch and land so all you'll need to do during the launch and landing is run briefly.

Depending on the conditions the average tandem flight will last between 10 - 25 minutes.

As Paragliding is weather dependant, we have to be flexible and go wherever the conditions are the best on any given day.

A licence course needs to be completed in order for you fly solo. Find out more about the course here, or go on an orientation tour if you are already a certified pilot.

PARA-TAXI adheres to SAHPA(South African Hang and Paragliding Association) standards and only uses internationally certified equipment.
