Worldwide the unique indigenous Aloe gariepensis is found in rocky exposed places in hot arid areas for 1km on both sides of the Orange (Gariep) River from Keimoes and surrounding islands westwards to the Richtersveld. We proudly announce the existence, worldwide, of the densest population of this utterly scarce aloe at Kalahari Water! Flowering time is during August and September

 

Kalahari Water offers you an exciting world full of surprising contrasts. The name tells the whole story. The unapproachable desert world meets here with the richness of the oasis of the Orange River.

Kalahari Water is a private eco-tourism development that lies in the middle of a vine farm 4km of Keimoes on an island paradise of the Orange River.

Keimoes area is surrounded by more than 100 islands, inhabitant by people and mutually linked with narrow bridges, causeways and suspension bridges.

Enjoy activities such as bird watching, canoeing, swimming, mountain biking, hiking, angling, 4x4 and many more at Kalahari Water!

 

Dam Caravan Park

Next to a dam and “koppie”, between the vineyards with 14 stands on grass and with power points, about 2,5 km from the river

 

River Caravan Park

River Park next to the river with tranquil angling and bird watching spots about 500m from the bush camp and 2,5km from the guesthouse (family selfcatering units).
