The Gravity Adventure Group offers a range of adventure activities. Group discounts and special offers out of season. Children 12 and under qualify for a 15% discount.

 

1.MULTI-DAY TRIPS

The Orange River: Gorge. Class 2-4 (easy to challenging). 4 days 5 nights or  3 days, 4 nights

This is the ultimate Orange River trip, combining stunning semi-arid scenery, rich bird life, a true wilderness experience and exciting paddling with a few challenging rapids. Set in the Northern Cape, near Pofadder (eight hours from Cape Town and closer than the Richtersveld for JHB based clients), this expedition is just what you need to provide lots of relaxation and a bit of adrenaline in your life. Enjoy small groups and an uncrowded river. Delicious bush cuisine, base camp accommodation, boating and safety equipment, qualified and experienced guides and basic camping accommodation on river and abseiling are all included. No passports required. Recommended minimum age is 8yrs.

 

The Orange River: Raap en Skraap. Class 2 (easy). 3 days, 4 nights

 

This is the laid back option – four days of utter relaxation with a few small rapids and the amazing wilderness scenery of the mountainous lower Orange River. No crowds and no border crossings make this the perfect alternative to the Richtersveld section – closer to JHB as well! Ideal for families with younger kids or groups not keen on too much adrenaline. Delicious bush cuisine, base camp accommodation, boating and safety equipment, qualified and experienced guides and basic camping on river are all included.

 

Both sections above available as follows;

  • Standard trip: you supply just your personal gear and drinks. Maximum group size 24. Tents, mattresses and sleeping bags available for hire. Exclusive groups available – minimum group size is 14 in low season, 20 in high season.

  • Upgrade trip: We supply tents, mattresses, sleeping bags, porter boater to carry gear, drinks, porter boater to carry gear and help with tents, sit down meals etc. Minimum group size 6 or less, Maximum group size 12.

  • Family trip: designed around the needs of families with younger kids – child friendly menus, mealtimes, itinerary, extra guide etc. Maximum group size is 16.

2.SHORT BREAKS

The Breede River: Worcester. Class 2 (easy). 1-2 days

Just over an hour from Cape Town, the Breede winds its way through the wine lands of the western cape. Paddle through the leafy channels and leave your worries behind. This one or two day trip is the perfect break from the city and offers relaxed paddling, delicious meals and comfortable river side accommodation. Also perfect for corporate groups as conference and high ropes facilities are available. Delicious bush cuisine, comfortable accommodation (for overnight trips), boating and safety equipment, qualified and experienced guides and wine tasting are all included. Group bookings only, minimum group size is 8, maximum is 40 (or more by arrangement). 

The Doring River: Cederberg. Class 3 (exciting). 2 - 4 days

During the winter months, the rain and snowmelt feed down into the Doring River causing the dry riverbed to fill with water and producing exciting white water rapids. These two or three or four day trips offers adrenaline and relaxation in equal measure – challenge yourself to conquer rapids such as ‘house’, ‘krantz’ and ‘island’ and relax around the campfire in the evenings. Run as an expedition trip, delicious bush cuisine, base camp accommodation, boating and safety equipment, qualified and experienced guides and tented accommodation on river are all included. Group bookings only. Minimum size 10, maximum size 24. 

The Palmiet River: Kleinmond. Class 3-4 (exciting to challenging). 1-2 days

Set in the pristine Kogelberg nature Reserve, the Palmiet offers an exciting river experience throughout the year and at all water levels, just over an hour from Cape Town. This river offers the adventurer many options, from one-day white water rafting trips in winter, to relaxed floats on our innovative ‘gekos’ in summer. There are also many opportunities for extending your trip into two days by adding activities such as guided hikes, abseiling or mountain biking.
