Atractions Relax in our Roman Bath where the water temperature is always around the 30 degrees Centigrade, or in our outdoor warm pool. Relax in one of our two round cold-water swimming pools after a game of tennis. On the Springbok Hiking Trail, an easy hike of three km, you will inevitably encounter our herd of Springbok grazing lazily in the Karoo sun. The canyon through which the trail meanders is so narrow that most of the time a person walks in the water of the Olifants River, as there is no space for a hiking trail right next to the river. Many natural water pools occur in this gorge. Next to Calitzdorp Spa is the Gamka Mountain Nature Reserve where the Cape Mountain Zebra can be seen. The many scenic passes such as the Swartberg Pass that leads to the enchanting town of Prince Albert are musts. Visitors to the Swartberg Nature Reserve may experience a sense of vastness and tranquillity throughout the year, with picnic and braai facilities abundantly available. The remote and isolated Gamkaskloof valley, (Die Hel) includes attractions such as picnicking, a Norwegian mill, angling in the Gamka River, and sightseeing and relaxing in a natural paradise. The local cuisine, arts and crafts shops in the town of Calitzdorp hold special surprises of their own. Calitzdorp is close to many tourist attractions, Ostrich Show Farms, a Wildlife Ranch with cheetahs and crocodiles, a rabbit show farm and the world famous Cango Caves. The Calitzdorp Winery produces an exclusive range of wine, Blanc de noir, red and sweet wines, and the flagship being the Ruby Port. Boplaas Winery produces a wide range of outstanding table wines, ports and brandy. Their tasting rooms are open from Monday to Friday, and on Saturday mornings. Die Krans Wine Cellar boasts excellent quality table wines and fortified wines made according to the most advanced techniques. The CP Nel Museum in Oudtshoorn is essentially cultural-historical, and houses a large selection of historical material including documents, photos and publications on Oudtshoorn and the Klein Karoo.
Calitzdorp Spa is without fail Your Hinterland Haven that has been blessed by Mother Nature exclusively for you. The views from the Spa are awesome, and there is so much for enthusiastic eco-tourists to do and see in our very special paradise of nature. |

There are 2 chalet types - ie. pool chalets and mountain chalets. The pool chalets (only 4 bed) are adequately equipped and furnished. 14 of these chalets have been upgraded(No.1 - 14) ensuring a comfortable stay. The mountain chalets (4 and 6 bed) are equipped with all the basic necessities but are not of the same standard as the pool chalets. Each chalet has its own private parking and individual braai facilities.
The views from the chalets are awesome. The configuration has been
modeled around the traditional Ostrich breeding nests, with thatched roofs, we
offer you cool comfort in summer, and cozy snugness in winter. |
