A Stone's Throw B&B is ideal for visitors to the wide variety of attractions historical and educational in Grahamstown including, Rhodes University, Kingswood College, St Andrews College, The Diocesan School for Girls, Artificers Square, the old artisan quarter with many restored original houses which reflect a number of 1820 Settler architectural styles. The Botanical Gardens, 1820 Settlers National Monument, Fort Selwyn, Gunfire Hill, used as a lookout point for the garrison in early Grahamstown years. Albany History Museum, Selmar Schonland Herbarium, a pressed plant library. National English Literary Museum & Bookshop, Observatory Museum. The Observatory is a unique multi-storeyed 19th century Victorian shop and home which is now a museum. Visit the Egazini Memorial one of the first township based heritage sites in South Africa. The Memorial marks the event of the Battle of Grahamstown which took place in 1819.

A Stone's Throw B&B is situated in a tranquil country setting with the advantage of accessibility to the main centre of Grahamstown, as well as Thomas Baines Nature Reserve.
The beaches of Kenton-on-Sea, Kasouga and Port Alfred are nearby and the Great Fish River Game Reserves, Addo Elephant Park and Port Elizabeth are just over one hour away. A Stone's Throw B&B is situated "a stone's throw" from the main centre of Makana. We offer comfortable and affordable hospitality. Accommodation available in our rondavel, log-cabin, family room and guest room. Log-Cabin: This is special. Our newly built log cabin is set in the thorn-tree garden and provides accommodation for up to six sharing, ideal for families and groups. Consists of a double room, a twin loft bedroom (double volume), open plan seating/dining/equipped kitchenette with double bunk and sleeper couch which opens onto a lovely wooden deck overlooking an expansive view.
Guest Room: This is a comfortable snug room for two. Twin beds, separate entrance and en-suite with shower. Family Room: Opening onto a spacious garden setting with gorgeous view our family room is ideally set up to cater for mom, dad and the kids, with twin beds and a double bunk as well as being adjacent to a self-catering open-plan kitchenette, great place to unwind and let the children enjoy the spacious country setting. Scrumptuous home cooked english breakfasts are served on our lapa deck next to the pool to start your day in a sociable way. |
